Rita has for the past few months been working in collaboration with the SCBU for us to provide them with baby quilts.

There are two types; tiny ones for swaddling stillborn babies and slightly larger ones for premature babies to lie on in their incubators. They will be given to the parents to keep as a memento.

The tiny quilts should be wholecloth quilts in white/tone on tone cotton fabric. They can be hand or machine quilted in white or pastel thread and any soft lightweight wadding is acceptable. Please do not add any embellishments. Size - 8" x 11" or 10" x 13"

The larger ones are brightly coloured and patterned quilts which can be wholecloth or pieced in any design. Please use 100% cotton fabric - any type of wadding is acceptable but do not add any embellishments - buttons, bows, etc. Size 16" x 20".

To date Rita has handed over 53 (32 prem and 21 stillborn) and is expecting at least another 30 from the workshop we had during our May meeting.

At the meeting we had 3 work stations.
